IBS Syndrome: Symptoms, Diet, Help

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a condition with many symptoms that can be uncomfortable for the person suffering from this condition. But thankfully, it has been found that IBS syndrome does not create inflammation in the intestines or increase the chance for colon cancer. This condition also does not degrade the tissue in the intestines or cause permanent damage.

However, IBS does impact the individual's life and can be hard to manage without knowledge of food and lifestyle triggers.

IBS bowel syndrome does have many unpleasant symptoms, including stomach cramping and constipation. Those who suffer from this condition may also experience abdominal pain, gas, bloating, and diarrhea. It can also create fatigue in the body. It is estimated that IBS affects around 55 million Americans. The symptoms range from mild to severe, depending on the person. There are certain medications, as well as lifestyle and diet changes, that can help to manage this condition.
